Desmodus (Vampire Bat) — Bloodthirster¶

Desmodus is a special bat variant reforged by the power of the Moon Essence Cross. It pushes the bat's nocturnal instincts to the extreme: a melee loop driven by Blood Thirst, a mist-form escape that nullifies damage, and an ultrasonic wave that leaves enemies "unable to hear a sound." It is a high-mobility melee form that grows stronger the longer it fights at night — but fears sunlight and iron.

Active Skills¶
Mist Form (Primary)¶
The vampire's signature escape and engage tool:
- Press the active skill key to dissolve into a cloud of mist, your model fading away.
- While in mist, you are immune to all damage except the void, lasting about 4.5 seconds.
- After 1 second in mist, press the key again to charge a Burst, dealing 8 damage and knockback to enemies within 4 blocks.
- Cooldown 10 seconds.
Sonic Burst (Secondary)¶
Release a fan-shaped ultrasonic wave forward for control:
- Area 3.5 blocks wide, 8 blocks long.
- Deals 4 physical damage to non-whitelisted creatures inside and inflicts Nausea for 3s.
- Player targets are additionally Deafened for 3s (temporarily cannot hear any sound).
- Non-player targets additionally gain Blindness for 3s.
- Cooldown 8 seconds.
Passive Talents¶
Bloodthirst Instinct¶
As a vampire, combat continuously builds your Blood Thirst — landing attacks, hitting with skills, and killing enemies all add up:
- Below 25 thirst, gain 15% damage reduction.
- At 50 or above, gain 20% lifesteal.
- At 75+, damage is increased by 15% and lifesteal rises to 35%.
- After 12 seconds out of combat, the value begins to decay.
Moonlit Frenzy¶
At night under open sky, moonlight awakens your predator instincts: +15% attack damage, +5% movement speed, and out-of-combat Blood Thirst decay is halved.
Echolocation¶
Activates automatically once night falls (indoor or outdoor): every 3 seconds, all living entities within 12 blocks gain a 1-second Glowing pulse on a continuous loop, letting you track every target through the dark.
Inherited Bat Abilities¶
Retains nearly all the abilities of an ordinary bat: gliding and slow falling, night vision, wall-clinging, aerial acceleration, jump enhancement, fast bare-hand digging, sonar hearing, and the ability to mine diamonds while holding the Mosaic Claw.

Combat Role¶
A high-mobility lifesteal melee that hunts by night
Desmodus's core loop:
- Engage at night with Moonlit Frenzy and Echolocation, rapidly stacking Blood Thirst with attacks and skills.
- The higher your thirst, the more damage and lifesteal you gain — a snowball that grows stronger the longer you fight.
- When threatened, use Mist Form to negate damage and escape (or burst in melee), and use Sonic Burst to break enemy rhythm with Nausea / Deafness / Blindness.
It is a top-tier melee hunter at night, but especially fragile by day and against iron-wielding foes — choosing when to fight is the key to survival.
